Do you (or your staff) sit in meetings listening to your CFO talk about the hospital financial results and wonder how those numbers connect with what you do every day?

Do you stare at your month end financial reports and feel like they’re written in a foreign language? You don’t understand how to read them, what they say, and maybe most of all, where did those budget numbers you are supposed to be achieving come from?

You aren’t alone. Smart, talented, seasoned, hospital leaders experience it every day:  feeling lost (and sometimes stressed) when finance conversations come up.

Think about it: Leaders come up through the ranks.  Chances are, those degrees in nursing, HR, Medical Records, Radiology, Physical Therapy did not include classes on hospital finance.  We take our best and brightest performers and promote them.  Somehow, we think they magically learned these skills.  They probably didn’t.  Most of them are stressed and nervous about these responsibilities.  That’s where Money to Care can help.

Money to Care, LLC is dedicated to, and specializes in helping leaders be more successful.  We achieve that through books, classes, seminars, custom education offerings, and other consulting.

  1. COMPREHENSIVE CLASS OFFERING

Our biggest selling class offering is a comprehensive class that is a  companion class to the book Money to Care: Hospital Finance for Non-Financial Hospital Leaders”.

This class is structured similarly to a 2-credit college course. It includes 24 hours of class time, plus homework and a final exam.  The class is available for live teaching of 10-12 student cohorts.  Class pricing includes books and companion student workbooks.  Classes can be structured in two or four-hour increments with students spending time between classes absorbing and applying the lessons they are learning.

The classes are structured to align with the book, which is organized in a very linear fashion.  The first class begins with hospital finance terminology and each class builds on learning from previous classes.  Classes may be customized to utilize Company-specific financial statements and reports to enhance the student's understanding.

 2.  SPECIFIC TOPIC CLASSES

Classes are available to teach one or more sections of the book.  The class length varies depending on the content.  They may be structured to be generic (using just book materials), or customized to teach leaders about topics using Company-specific reports, such as labor productivity classes, or MOR preparation using month end reports.

 3.   CONSULTING

Many times, students become interested in seeing additional information and reports once they have learned the value of the information, and how to utilize it to improve the management of their areas.  Consulting services are available both in conjunction with the classes, or independent of the classes to assist Decision Support or IT with developing reports or portals to provide leaders the best information possible to maximize their success (and potentially improve the ROI on their training investment).
